The opening ceremony of the monument to People’s Artist of the USSR Iosif Kobzon, which took place today, September 9, in the park along the line of Arms Lane, was attended by Russia’s chief cardiologist Leo Bokeria. The audience greeted his appearance with astonished exclamations.
At the ceremony, the world-famous doctor managed to speak one of the few, so his speech was short. Bokeria recalled how Kobzon went to negotiate with Chechen extremists who seized Nord-Ost in 2002.
“He had a pulse rate of two hundred beats—bandits, murderers,” he said. And he completed his words about fearlessness and readiness for self-sacrifice, characteristic of Kobzon, with a sad maxim: “But we are all mortal.”
Recall that today a musical monument to Joseph Davydovich appeared in Moscow, not only conveying his lively appearance, but also allowing you to hear his songs. On the symbolic records placed on the ground near the monument, there are QR codes made in metal containing links to musical compositions.
