Bloomberg learned about the rapid filling of European storage with gas

The European Union managed to get closer to its goal of creating gas reserves two months ahead of schedule. Such data are provided by Bloomberg with reference to Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) data.
The agency notes that the EU countries have set themselves the task of filling underground gas storage facilities (UGS) by 80 percent by November 1. However, by the end of August, the occupancy rate was 79.94 percent.
Such volumes of gas will cover from 25 to 30 percent of winter gas consumption in Europe. As Member of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek noted, filled gas storages do not solve all issues, but will allow Europeans to feel more secure and confident before the coming winter.
Data on the high filling of gas storages, in turn, led to a decrease in gas prices in Europe. At the same time, in Germany, which is highly dependent on Russian gas, the filling level of gas storage facilities will reach 85 percent in September.
