Bloomberg: half of the G20 countries do not support the isolation of Russia

Unlike the G7, about half of the G20 countries do not support the US desire to isolate Russia from the international community. About it writes Bloomberg.
During his tour of Southeast Asia and Africa, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken faced an “unpleasant reality” that most of the world was not ready to follow the U.S. plans to isolate Russia, the newspaper’s observers said. It is noted that the leaders of the richest countries of the G20 did not find support for the idea of tightening economic pressure on the Russian Federation among representatives of other states.
So, pressure on Moscow was also abandoned in China, India, Brazil, Turkey and South Africa. Bloomberg explains the position of the countries with historical ties with Moscow, fear for their economy, as well as distrust of the former colonial powers.
The authors of the article note that this state of affairs seriously complicates the implementation of global initiatives, such as limiting the price of Russian oil, which is supported by the G7 countries.
Earlier, the leaders of the G7 countries said they planned to cap the price of Russian oil in order to reduce Russia’s revenues and stabilize energy prices. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, on the other hand, believes that such a step could create even more problems – it will cause an imbalance in the market and an increase in quotations.
At the end of July, US State Department spokesman Ned Price said that Russia was aware that it was in isolation because of the situation in Ukraine. “Russia is aware that its actions lead to the fact that it becomes an outcast, it has no illusions about this at this point,” Price said. The Russian Embassy in the United States responded that the American politician’s statement was caused by “inflamed imagination.” According to the diplomatic mission, the United States is increasingly “losing touch with reality.”
