Bloomberg: Apple will switch to its own displays from 2024

Apple intends to start using its own displays in its mobile devices from 2024, reports Bloombergciting sources within the company.
The first devices to receive displays from Apple should be premium Apple Watch smartwatches. At the end of 2024, microLED displays will be installed on them. Over time, the company intends to equip all of its devices, including the iPhone, with next-generation displays.
Apple is trying to reduce its dependence on third-party vendors. So, earlier the company refused from using Intel chips in Mac computers, replacing them with semiconductors of its own production. In addition, at the end of 2024 – beginning of 2025, Apple intends to abandon Broadcom and Qualcomm chips. For both companies, Apple was the largest customer and provided them with about a fifth of their annual revenue.
Apple’s main display suppliers were Samsung and LG. In addition, the American company was provided with Japan Display, Sharp and BOE Technology displays.
