Activists of the social movement “Brotherhood of Morozov – Zlatoust” filed a lawsuit against Russian blogger Mellstroy (real name Andrey Burim) because he uses obscenities in videos. They demand to recover 10 million rubles from the blogger.
The lawsuit against Mellstroy was filed in the Ostankino District Court of Moscow, one of the plaintiffs, former deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexander Morozov, told RIA Novosti. In addition to paying compensation, he also demands to block about 120 streams and interviews of the blogger published on YouTube. According to the plaintiffs, Andrei Burim, “by creating and distributing video, audio and text products with obscene language, insults people, defames the Russian language, and also hurts their religious feelings.” “The defendants, by their actions, violate the plaintiff’s rights to a favorable information environment,” said Alexander Morozov. He explained that if he wins in court, he intends to donate the money collected from the blogger to charity.
In 2021 Andrey Burim was sentenced to six months of correctional labor for beating a girl during a video broadcast. More than 600 thousand people subscribed to the “Mellstroy Streams” channel, where the beating took place. The administration of the YouTube service blocked the channel for violating the rules of the platform.
