Blinovskaya went under house arrest, promising to pay all taxes

On Friday, the Presnensky Court chose blogger Elena Blinovskaya a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest. The lady hid her face under such a huge and thick red hood that it is not clear how she managed to talk to lawyers in it. A service dog accompanied Blinovskaya to the hall.

The investigator of the Main Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Moscow said that from 2019 to 2021, Blinovskaya issued an IP with a simplified taxation system of 6 percent through nominees. As a result, taxes in the amount of 918 million rubles were not paid to the budget, and 43 million rubles were legalized illegally.

Blinovskaya admitted guilt, but refused to testify, so the investigation plans to collect evidence through the participants in the crime. During interrogations, she stated that she regretted what she had done and was ready to reimburse part of the money.

The investigation petitioned for house arrest at the place of residence in a cottage village in the Istra district of the Moscow region, as well as a ban on the use of the Internet and telephones. According to the investigator, Blinovskaya can threaten witnesses and destroy evidence.

The prosecutor’s office supported this petition.

Meanwhile, the blogger’s lawyer objected to house arrest.

“Blinovskaya did not know about the criminal case, and the trip during which she was detained was planned, related to business activities,” she said.

The lawyer argued that her client cannot be isolated from society, since she is a mother of many children and is not going to hide. The defender asked for a ban on certain actions.

Ultimately, the court decided on house arrest for a period of 1 month and 29 days.
