US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in an interview with Japanese television channel NHK that regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, there are certain basic principles and ideas that need to be clearly understood.
“We cannot allow Hamas to rule Gaza,” said the head of the American foreign policy department.
He explained that otherwise it would lead to a repeat of the events of October 7, when terrorists attacked Israeli settlements, killing and torturing hundreds of people.
At the same time, Blinken said, the Palestinian people cannot be forced out of Gaza and there cannot be a reoccupation of the Gaza Strip by Israel. According to the Secretary of State, a Palestinian state must be created, a government that will unite the West Bank and Gaza.
The Hamas movement’s politburo has already responded to Blinken’s interview. They called on Washington to stop thinking about “illusions” regarding who will rule Gaza after the completion of the Israeli operation.
