US Secretary of State Blinken had a telephone conversation with ousted Niger President Bazum
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke by phone with Niger President Mohamed Bazum, who was ousted by the rebels. He announced this on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
The American politician announced the search for a peaceful solution to the constitutional crisis in Niger, and also called on the rebels to immediately release Mohamed Bazum and his family.
Recall that earlier the rebels in Niger refused to allow US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland to meet with the ousted president of the West African country and rejected her calls to restore democracy.
