US Secretary of State Antony Blinken hopes that the US Congress will approve President Joe Biden’s request for additional funds, in particular to help Ukraine.

In his opinion, the request for an additional budget made by the White House demonstrates its commitment to supporting Ukraine. During the briefing, Blinken said of the additional funding: “We expect Congress to approve it in the coming weeks.”

In October, Biden sent a request to Congress for financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $61.4 billion for a year. $14.3 billion was requested to strengthen Israel’s defense. In total, the US President asked Congress for approval for additional funding in the amount of $106.7 billion.
