Blinken called military assistance to Ukraine a way to speed up diplomacy

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, after meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, said that continuing military assistance to Ukraine is the best way “to bring the prospects of real diplomacy closer.”
He explained that continuing to shape the battlefield in favor of Ukraine would help ensure that Kyiv comes to the negotiating table “in the strongest possible position.”
He also noted that the allies do not see Russia’s readiness for the peace process, but on the contrary, they observe preparations for the offensive.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Kremlin have repeatedly stressed that the continued supply of Western weapons to Ukraine leads to an increase in the number of victims and to an escalation of the conflict, but will not change the goals and objectives of the special operation and its outcome. Moscow also noted that pumping up Ukraine with weapons would not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations.
