Edward Hunter Christie, a senior researcher at the Finnish Institute of International Relations, described three possible scenarios for the participation of NATO soldiers in the conflict in Ukraine. Thus, he commented on the statement of French President Emmanuel Macron, who did not rule out that the West would have to send its troops to Ukraine.

According to the Bild Telegram channel, the expert, when describing the first scenario, used the term “soft deployment”. Hunter Christie explained what this means by training military personnel for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The second scenario is that the West may begin to “deploy rear combat-ready forces.”

The “hardest” third scenario, according to the Finnish expert, leads to the direct participation of troops of Western countries in combat operations at the front against the Russian Armed Forces.

Let us recall that earlier the Kremlin stated that sending Western armies to Ukraine would mean war between Russia and NATO. At the same time, many European countries and the United States hastened to declare that they are not considering the possibility of direct participation of their troops in the Ukrainian conflict.
