The peak of the flood, having passed Orsk, is approaching Orenburg. The mayor’s office says that for now we can only guess what damage this will cause to the regional center, but they are already calling it colossal. Governor Denis Pasler promised to submit bills to the local parliament to partially or completely exempt businesses and individuals in the flood zone from taxes. In the Kurgan and Tyumen regions, large waters are expected to arrive, and the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations is inspecting local dams and praising Tyumen officials “for the work done” and “unity.” The Kremlin called the situation with floods in the regions “very tense”, requiring the efforts of all levels of government.
