Biden’s prayer for Russia is not harmful to our country, says vicar

The American president’s prayer for Russia cannot be harmful to our country, said Priest Kirill Gorbunov, Vicar General of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of the Mother of God in Moscow. And this is regardless of whether Joe Biden considers Russia an enemy or a friend.
In social networks, the Polish priest Wiesław Davidowski earlier said that for the American leader on Ash Wednesday – the day the Great Lent begins for Catholics and a number of other Western Christians – he celebrated a Catholic mass. On it, according to him, the president prayed in “great secrecy” for peace and the transformation of Russia. Davidowski said that in honor of Ash Wednesday, he drew a cross with ashes on Biden’s forehead. The American leader was later seen with a residual dark spot.
If he considers Russia an enemy, then he is fulfilling the commandment of Christ: love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you, the vicar noted. “And if he considers us friends, all the more so you need to pray for each other,” he said, noting that Russia, like any nation or person, needs spiritual transformation. “This should always happen, every day,” the priest emphasized. Of course, such a prayer can in no way be “harmful” for Russia, he believes.
