Biden said that the West does not seek to destroy Russia

The United States and European countries are not seeking to control or destroy Russia, US President Joe Biden said during a speech in Poland. The West has no plans to attack Russia, he added.

“I once again appeal to the Russian people. The US and European countries do not seek to establish control over Russia or destroy it. The West did not plan to attack Russia,” said American President (quoted by TASS).

“The millions of Russian citizens who only want to live in peace with their neighbors are not [нашими] enemies,” the US President said. Biden called the current situation in Ukraine a tragedy.

Today, February 21, during a message to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin declaredthat the country is aware that the West is involved in Ukraine’s attempts to strike Russian strategic aviation bases. According to him, the drones used for this were “equipped and modernized with the assistance of NATO specialists.”

Putin earlier declaredthat the West is pursuing an aggressive policy towards Russia, and also seeks to weaken and destroy the country. This statement was made by the head of state during an address to the Russians on September 21, 2022. At the same time, partial mobilization was announced.

The Russian president noted that Western countries “are trying to block, suppress any sovereign and independent centers of development in order to continue to impose their will on other countries and peoples.” The President stated that Western states are openly talking about the desire to “split” Russia, as it once happened with the USSR. He also accused the West of “total Russophobia”. According to the Russian leader, the authorities of Western countries “for decades purposefully nurtured hatred towards Russia.”

Also in September, Putin declaredthat the West is looking for new ways to ruin Russia, doom its people to poverty and extinction. The Russian president emphasized that the West is striving to do everything possible to preserve the neo-colonial system in the world. According to him, Western countries “remove rent as a hegemon” and therefore it is so important for them that all states “surrender sovereignty in favor of the United States.”
