Biden reprimands Netanyahu for attacks on aid workers

US President Joe Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that attacks on humanitarian workers during the Israeli Defense Forces’ military operation in the Gaza Strip are unacceptable. This was announced on Thursday, April 4, at the White House.
The administration of the American leader confirmed that Biden spoke with Netanyahu by phone. The US President demanded that the Israeli authorities “present and implement” concrete steps to prevent harm to civilians and humanitarian workers.
Washington warned that further policy “will be determined by the American administration’s assessments of Israel’s “immediate actions” in this area.
The announcement follows reports from people familiar with the matter that Biden will express his dissatisfaction and anger with Benjamin Netanyahu over the deaths of seven World Central Kitchen (WCK) aid workers in the Israeli strike.
Netanyahu previously argued that Israel has “no choice” but to attack Rafah. The politician told a group of US Congress members that victory in the Gaza Strip and the neutralization of the top Hamas leadership in the enclave will only come “in a few weeks”.
At the same time, Joe Biden’s telephone conversation with Benjamin Netanyahu called not just a test for the leaders’ increasingly deteriorating relationship – a conversation experts say will highlight a glaring contradiction in US policy towards a conflict that potentially poses an existential threat to their political careers.
