Biden pledged $100 million for humanitarian aid to Palestine

The United States will provide $100 million in humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, US President Joe Biden said.
“Today, I’m also announcing an additional $100 million in humanitarian assistance to Gaza and the West Bank, which will help more than 1 million displaced Palestinians,” Biden said during a speech in Israel (quote according to RIA Novosti).
Previously Biden announced asking Congress to provide an “unprecedented” aid package for Israel. He also assured that the United States will continue to supply ammunition for the Israeli Iron Dome missile defense system.
On the morning of October 18, the US President arrived in Israel for negotiations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The White House said the purpose of the visit was to “demonstrate our continued support for Israel in the face of the brutal Hamas terrorist attack and discuss next steps.”
On October 7, the Palestinian group Hamas began military operations against Israel. Amid the militant attack, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched Operation Iron Swords, and the country went into a state of war. According to the latest data, over 3,000 Palestinians and 1,400 Israelis have died as a result of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
