Biden humiliated China: will the US pull the war on two fronts

An ideal example of a unipolar world

One useful function can be found in US President Joe Biden – he is still a living illustration of a dying unipolar world. Someday in some American “Biden Center” a group of Chinese schoolchildren will roll their eyes, looking at an archive video where Biden calls Comrade Xi a dictator, and in the corner the old mulatto caretaker Karine Jean-Pierre will shed tears, remembering former greatness.

Biden really called the Chinese leader a dictator. Like that, he casually called it, talking about how he, the President of the United States, shot down a Chinese balloon (I didn’t remember about the disgrace that all the American Air Force and Air Defense could not shoot him down for a couple of days). Here, they say, I shot down the balloon, and there was spy equipment “for two freight cars” and “Xi Jinping was very upset,” because he did not know that the balloon had drifted into the United States, and “dictators experience great confusion when they are not aware what happened.” Shame on a dictator if he doesn’t have everything under control.

And all this – right the next day after the visit of his Secretary of State Blinken to China, where the head of the US Foreign Ministry endured subtle Chinese humiliations (he was met out of order), tried to find at least some common ground and improve relations. Because the war on two fronts – Ukrainian and Taiwanese – will not be taken out even by the United States. And after all, something happened. The influential Chinese Global Times even wrote that meetings between Chinese senior officials and Blinken opened a window for pragmatic relations between the two sides. If Washington can really translate its words into actions, then the meeting of the two top leaders of the United States and China can be expected in November at the APEC summit.

But Biden took and demolished from the chessboard prepared for the American-Chinese game, all the pieces placed with such difficulty. He took it down without looking, only left himself.

And now the Chinese Foreign Ministry is giving a rebuke, expressing “sharp dissatisfaction and strong protest.” For diplomatic language, this is an extremely harsh statement: “The statements of the American side are extremely absurd, extremely irresponsible, contradict the facts, seriously violate diplomatic etiquette, are a serious infringement on China’s political dignity and an open political provocation.” In vain Blinken suppressed a smile.

Why did Biden let all his efforts down the drain? Do not understand what is happening, do not see? Hardly. You can’t just teach an old dog new tricks. As I got used to in my whole life that there is only one country, the USA, and its president is the owner of the entire planet, he lives like that. An old man greeting imaginary people, stumbling out of the blue, falling but still getting up in his last attempts to stay on his feet. An ideal example of a unipolar world.
