Biden commented on the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station

US President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that Washington intends to continue to provide assistance to Ukraine in light of the situation related to the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.
During a meeting with representatives of the White House, Biden, commenting on the situation around the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, said: “We will not leave Ukraine in trouble. We are going to provide it with the necessary assistance.”
During the night, the Ukrainian armed forces launched several attacks on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, which led to the destruction of its upper part. However, the reservoir dam itself was not damaged, and unregulated discharge of water is currently underway. In this regard, the evacuation of residents from three districts began: Novokakhovsky, Golopristansky and Alyoshkinsky.
Vladimir Leontiev, the head of the administration of the Novokakhovka urban district, accused Kyiv of destroying the hydroelectric power station, holding him responsible. According to Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of Russia, one of the goals of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station by the Kyiv regime was to deprive Crimea of access to water resources.
