Biden believes Israel will adhere to rules of war

In an interview with the television company published on Sunday CBS US President Joe Biden expressed confidence that Israel will comply with the rules of engagement. He was asked questions about the need to create a corridor for the evacuation of refugees from the Gaza Strip and the delivery of humanitarian aid. Biden answered these questions positively.
“I am confident that Israel will adhere to the rules of war,” he said. “There are standards that democratic institutions and states adhere to. Therefore, I am confident that the civilian population of Gaza will have access to medical care, food and water,” Biden added.
The situation in the Middle East worsened after the infiltration of Palestinian Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israel on October 7. Radicals consider this attack to be a response to the actions of the Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Israel declared a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip and began striking it, as well as certain areas of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes also occur in the West Bank.
