Best sparkling: Roskachestvo rating

On the eve of the New Year, Roskachestvo presented a rating of Russian-made sparkling wines. The study involved wines of the middle price segment.

The highest rating of experts was given to the white brut “Vysokiy Bereg. Riesling” (manufacturer – “Kuban-Vino”). The price is 465 rubles.

“Weakly colored wine of golden color, with active sparkling. Varietal characteristics of Riesling are clearly visible in taste and aroma. Barely recognizable notes of petrol, lime and grassy tones complement the nervous, ascetic body and make the wine piercing and aggressive. For lovers of acid Rieslings,” says the description of this sparkling wine on the Roskachestvo website. Further, we will also provide descriptions of wines presented by experts in the study of ANO Russian Quality System.

In second place is also white brut – “Myskhako Cuve” (manufacturer – “Myskhako”). The price is about 350 rubles. The aroma is reminiscent of the petrol tones of Riesling, the fruity aromas of aligote and the subtle creaminess of Chardonnay. Taste characteristics support the aromatic profile of the wine. Acidity successfully balances with sweetness, does not irritate, but on the contrary, provides the wine with the necessary balance and lightness.

Three sparkling wines shared the third place at once: aged white extra brut “Aristov. Cuve Alexander. Blanc de Blanc”, white brut “Terroir of Kuban” and white brut “Chateau Tamagne. Heritage” (manufacturer – “Kuban-Vino”).

“Aristov. Cuve Alexander. Blanc de Blanc is one of the most expensive wines in the ranking, its price is about 950 rubles. The wine is light greenish-golden in color, with an alluring aroma of flowering meadows, fresh tones of lime and grassy notes. The airy sparkling body of the wine is organically woven with refreshing acidity and familiar flavors of green apple, ripe lemon and a slightly noticeable creaminess of morning toast.

A bottle of wine “Terroir of Kuban” can be bought for 360 rubles. This wine is golden in color with greenish tones and active sparkling. Aromas of green apple, gooseberry, white currant and early peaches. Good structure of the wine, decent acidity, which is veiled by a slight sweetness. The aromatic theme has its continuation in taste, which makes a favorable impression.

“Chateau Taman. Heritage” is sold for 385 rubles. Wine of light greenish color, with active perlage. Assemblage of white grape varieties, each of which has its own peculiar aroma. Pure tones of flowering trees, notes of peaches and white plums gently highlight the balanced, well-cut wine body with an optimal balance of sugars and acids against a backdrop of light fruity flavors.

In fourth place in the overall ranking are two wines recognized as the best semi-sweet sparkling wines in Russia: the rosé ZB Wine Moskato and the white Balaclava Muscat (producer – Zolotaya Balka).

“ZB Vine Moscato” is sold for 389 rubles. The wine is light pink in color, with a vigorous, active sparkling. Muscat tones in the aroma – roses, blossoming orange, honeysuckle, ripe pear and peach, light sweet shades of confectionery spices. The taste is balanced, corresponds to the aroma, acidity successfully coexists with sweetness.

The price of Balaclava Muscat wine is 520 rubles. Wine of lemon color, with a light, openwork sparkling. The aroma is delicate, silent – very light notes of a flowering garden, acacia and wild rose, tones of white stone fruit and caramel. Pleasant sweetness hides acidity and provides balance to the wine, while rounded tones of almonds and white chocolate complete the portrait of the wine.

Fifth place is shared by the semi-sweet white “ZB Wine Moscato” and the semi-sweet red “Golden Balka” (manufacturer – “Golden Balka”).

“ZB Vine Moscato” costs 370 rubles. Straw-colored wine with green reflections and lively play of large bubbles. In the aroma, varietal notes of Muscat are orange flowers, honeysuckle, roses, peach and ripe pear. The taste continues and develops the familiar nutmeg theme. At the same time, good acidity and light sweetness are noted, which makes the wine understandable and democratic.

Sparkling “Zolotaya Balka” is sold for 440 rubles. Wine of rich garnet color, with active, bright sparkling. Aromas of strawberry, cherry, blackcurrant, pomegranate. Taste supports the given style. Cheerful acidity, light astringency and appropriate sweetness give the wine its own cheerful character.

For those who prefer sweet wines, Roskachestvo recommends opting for the red Tsimlyansky (produced by Tsimlyansky Wines). It can be purchased at a price of about 400 rubles. This wine is an opaque garnet color, with aromas of ripe black cherries, sloes, black currants and plums. The palate is full-bodied, with a dense body and a well-defined structure, the acidity masks the noticeable sweetness of the wine.

But among the wines of the “Russian champagne” category with aging in the bottle, experts recognized the red brut “New World. Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine has an intense crimson color, with a moderate play of bubbles. In the aroma of barely ripe wild berries, green apple, red currant, early cherry. The taste is simple, watery, with active acidity and a light body. The cost of wine is 939 rubles.
