Belousov: the state and business should build partnerships

Under the new conditions, the state and business should become partners in order to mutually understand each other’s goals and objectives and work “with empathy.” About it declared First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov in an interview RBC.

“How should the state build relations with business in the new conditions strategically? I believe that we should become partners. <…> Senior partner and junior partner,” he said.

Belousov noted that the state is “not a night watchman,” but at the same time, historically, the state takes on “many functions of civil society.”

There can be no equality between business and the state, but cooperation can develop when “one works for the other’s goals,” the First Deputy Prime Minister noted. According to him, such a “partnership model” began to take shape in Russia in 2020, with the pandemic.

Belousov said that many Russian businessmen are “real patriots.” “And they work not because they are all under sanctions, but because they believe that they have a home here. They identify themselves very closely with the country. Not all, but many,” he added.

On Russian Entrepreneurship Day, Russian President Vladimir Putin declaredthat the majority of domestic entrepreneurs have proven their commitment to Russia. The state, in turn, will provide support “at all levels” so that businesses invest in building enterprises and increasing jobs, he added. Putin noted that the authorities will continue to reduce the administrative burden on businesses.
