Reports on the introduction of martial law in the border areas of the Belgorod region do not correspond to reality, declared at the operational headquarters of the region.
“Information about the invasion of Ukrainian troops in the Belgorod region, the introduction of martial law, general mobilization and evacuation of the region deep into Russia is a fake,” they wrote on the Telegram channel of the operational headquarters.
The purpose of such messages in the press service called panic among civilians. “Keep calm. And trust only reliable sources. In the event of an emergency, all operational information will be promptly posted in the accounts of the operational headquarters and other official sources,” the operational headquarters added.
Earlier, information appeared on the network about the alleged introduction of martial law in the border areas. The entry spoke about the invasion of Ukrainian troops into the Kursk, Bryansk and Belgorod regions.
June 4 Ministry of Defense reported about repelling an attempt to break through the Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) in the Belgorod region. According to the agency, the DRG made an attempt to cross the river near the settlement of Novaya Tavolzhanka. The defense department added that an artillery strike was carried out, as a result of which the enemy was “scattered and retreated.”
On the same day, information about the battles in Novaya Tavolzhanka confirmed Governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov. In addition, he responded to the proposal of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) to negotiate in exchange for Russian prisoners of war, where he appointed a meeting place on the evening of June 4.
