Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov at an operational meeting in the regional government instructed prepare an order that will prohibit its deputies, ministers and heads of municipalities from leaving the region and going on vacation if they have not concluded budget contracts for the next year.
As Mr. Gladkov noted, this ban will also apply to the New Year holidays. With his personal permission, officials will be able to leave the region only on official business trips. “I think this is the right story, I hope everyone will agree with this,” said the head of the region. When preparing the order, he asked to check whether it violated the administrative and civil codes or the Constitution of the Russian Federation. “It seems to me that I have authority in this regard,” suggested Mr. Gladkov.
The head of the region expressed hope that government employees will be able to structure their work so as not to upset their families. “The issue is not a bad governor who has come up with something new, the issue is the quality of the work for which you receive a salary,” summed up Vyacheslav Gladkov.
In February last year, after the start of a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, Vyacheslav Gladkov limited the possibility of going on vacation for heads of government agencies, but by the summer the restrictions had been lifted.
