Belgorod governor announced thousands of Ukrainians who crossed the border in a day

Over the past 24 hours, thousands of people have crossed the Russian-Ukrainian border, most have gone to relatives in the Russian Federation, another 1,342 people are in 27 temporary accommodation centers in the Belgorod region, informed Governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov.
“Not the easiest night turned out, not the easiest morning. Over the past day, thousands of people have crossed the border,” the governor wrote on his Telegram channel.
He noted that the majority of refugees reach the Russian region on their own – by private or rail transport. Now the Belgorod authorities are preparing 750 people to be sent to other regions. According to Gladkov, some of them needed medical help; psychologists also work in TAPs.
“In general, the situation is under control. The checkpoints, which were overcrowded yesterday, are currently not lined up at all,” Gladkov said.
The Kursk region, which borders Ukraine, is ready to help the Belgorod region in accepting refugees, Governor Roman Starovoit said. According to him, 19 temporary accommodation centers have been deployed in the region, where 1,700 internally displaced persons live.
This week, the head of the pro-Russian military-civilian administration (VGA) of the Kharkiv region, Vitaly Ganchev urged residents to leave their homes in the war zone and evacuate to Russia.
Over the past three days, 7,500 refugees have passed from the territory of the Kharkiv region at the border checkpoint in Logachevka, and 3,100 people – in Shebekino, RIA Novosti reports. In general, 13,000 people arrived in Belgorod from the territory of Ukraine.
