Belgian police detained four suspects in preparation for a terrorist attack

Belgian police detained four suspects in plotting a terrorist attack. It is assumed that the suspects are associated with extremism and were preparing a plan for a terrorist attack through the messenger.

The detainees are not believed to have taken practical steps, but it was decided to detain them until they did so.

Searches were carried out in Brussels, Liege, Ninov and Charleroi. No weapons or explosives were found during the arrests, RTBF TV channel reports, citing the prosecutor’s office.
