Belarusian military trained to work with Iskanders

The military of the Armed Forces of Belarus completed a course of practical training for the use of the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system. The training took place on the territory of Russia, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense reported in its Telegram channel.

“The crews of the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system of the missile forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus have completed practical training in the Russian Federation. Today, Belarusian servicemen landed at the Machulishchi airfield after completing a full training cycle at one of the training grounds of the armed forces of the Russian Federation,” the report says.

On March 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the completion of the construction of a storage facility for tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) in Belarus by July of this year. The President noted that Moscow is not transferring nuclear weapons to Minsk, but is doing what the United States has been doing for many years.

At the same time, Putin said that 10 aircraft and Iskander missile systems, which could be carriers of nuclear weapons, had already been deployed on the territory of Belarus. This decision was made in response to NATO expansion, and also due to the fact that the United States is deploying its nuclear weapons on the territory of a number of European countries, while simultaneously training European military personnel to handle nuclear bombs.
