The Polish radio station Zet reports that the appearance of Belarusian helicopters on the Polish-Belarusian border has excited the inhabitants of the eastern part of Poland. The radio station brought the words of one of the local residents, who on social networks wondered what flies over Bialowieza, except for storks.
Later it turned out that the Belarusian side had warned the Polish border service in advance about the planned patrolling of the border between the two countries from the air. The command of the Polish army assured that the country’s airspace was not violated, but admitted that at a certain flight altitude in some places it may feel like the helicopters are very close.
It is reported that when patrolling, Belarus will use the Mi-24 attack helicopter, which is escorted by Mi-8 helicopters.
