Belarusian Foreign Ministry summons Ukrainian ambassador over missile incident

Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Igor Kizim was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic because of the incident with the Ukrainian S-300 missile, which was destroyed on Thursday by the Belarusian air defense forces, said Anatoly Glaz, press secretary of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
“We demanded that the Ukrainian side conduct a thorough investigation of all the circumstances of the launch of this missile and take comprehensive measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future, which could lead to catastrophic consequences,” he said (quote according to BelTA).
Glaz also answered the question of whether any of the Ukrainian diplomats were declared persona non grata. “No, we didn’t talk about it today,” he added.
Earlier today, the BelTA agency reported that a Ukrainian rocket fell on the territory of Belarus in the morning between 10:00 and 11:00. As a result of the incident, according to preliminary data, no one was injured. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has already been informed about the incident.
After that, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic reported that the missile that fell on the territory of Belarus was shot down by air defense. The defense ministry also clarified that during the verification activities, it was previously established that the wreckage belonged to the S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile fired from the territory of Ukraine.
