Belarus to lower health requirements for conscripts and contractors

Ministry of Defense of Belarus reportedwhich, together with the Ministry of Health of the Republic, is working to adjust the requirements for the health of citizens entering military service.

The adjustment will affect conscripts, contract soldiers and employees in the reserve.

“There are a large number of appeals from citizens who believe that the health requirements are significantly overestimated and do not allow young people to realize their dream of becoming a military man,” the Defense Ministry said.

On October 4, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting on security issues, where he ordered verify citizens in reserve. “Through the military registration and enlistment offices, we have checked and will continue to check the conscripts, all the conscripts who are in our reserve,” he said then.

On the completion of a scheduled inspection of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus reported On January 10, according to the department, more than 95% of the republic’s conscripts passed it.

On October 10, Lukashenko announced the increased threats that come from Western countries against Belarus. In particular, he claimed that Kyiv was working on opening a second front on the border with the republic. In this regard, Russia and Belarus agreed to deploy a joint regional group of troops. Lukashenka instructed to deploy a small part of the Russian military in the territory of the republic. On October 31, the Belarusian leader signed a decree on the establishment of joint combat training centers with Russia for the military of the two countries.
