Belarus extended the ban on the export of grain

Belarus has extended the temporary ban on grain exports for another six months. This is stated in the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic, which published on the national legal portal.

“To establish a temporary ban on the export outside the Republic of Belarus to the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) of goods according to the list according to the annex, regardless of the country of origin,” the document says.

We are talking about a ban on the export of 19 goods from the country, including wheat, rye, barley, corn, millet, buckwheat, oats and other grains. The measure does not apply to grain exported to provide humanitarian assistance or as supplies, as well as to the following through the territory of Belarus in transit.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic was instructed to submit a proposal to the Eurasian Economic Commission for the introduction of a similar measure on the customs territory of the EAEU, the document says. The resolution came into force on September 23 and will be valid for six months.

In April, Belarus introduced restrictions for the export outside the EAEU of certain types of food products by individuals. It was allowed to export up to 1 kg – flour (buckwheat or wheat), certain types of cereals, sugar, salt, pasta, up to 1 liter of vegetable oil, as well as up to 3 cans of canned meat, dairy and fish, with the exception of canned food for baby food.
