On December 15, Daxing Airport (Beijing) notified Rossiya Airlines that it was refusing to accept and service flights. A representative of the Russian air carrier spoke about this on Wednesday, December 20.
He clarified that from March 2023, the airline began to undergo accreditation with the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China in order to obtain the necessary permits to operate flights.
By the start of the first Vladivostok-Beijing flight on December 17, the carrier was given an operational permit, as well as confirmed slots and rights to operate flights from Vladivostok, Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk, a Rossiya representative claims.
However, despite the airline’s readiness to quickly ensure compliance with these requirements, the airport administration did not meet them halfway. As a result, the carrier had to cancel flights to Daxing Airport from Vladivostok, Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk.
Earlier, the Agency for International Cooperation of Primorsky Krai said that in December the number of flights will double, connecting Vladivostok and China. If today such flights are carried out eight times a week (to Harbin, Beijing and Dalian), now the planes will operate 17 times during the same period.
In addition, the long-awaited section of the Mikhailovka – Turiy Rog highway was opened to traffic in Primorye. The new road plays an important role in connecting the settlements of the Khorolsky district and the Mikhailovsky district, as well as serves international road transport with China and the federal road A-370 “Ussuri”.
