The Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, as a sign of support for the residents of the Belgorod region, canceled the night concert planned for today on Palace Square. On December 30, the center of Belgorod came under rocket fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, killing 24 people and injuring 108 people.
“Over the course of half a day, I received dozens of messages from residents with such a request, and I am sure that all of St. Petersburg will support this decision… I spoke with the governor of the Belgorod region and offered comprehensive assistance, including in the restoration of destroyed facilities. At the same time, during the holidays, all holidays for children in St. Petersburg will be held as scheduled.
As a sign of solidarity with Belgorod, New Year holidays were canceled in Penza, Lipetsk, Tambov, Voronezh region, Kolomna, Kursk, Veliky Ustyug, Yelets, Vologda, Magadan and settlements of Kamchatka. The holiday program in Izhevsk has been reduced.
