In Moscow, searches were carried out at the home of the well-known nationalist Dmitry Demushkin. The police raided the politician, famous for his ambiguous statements, in the early morning of November 8. No charges have yet been brought against Demushkin. Three hours later, someone writes on behalf of Demushkin:

The lawyer pointed out the oddities associated with the morning event in the home of the nationalist. Instead of a search, an inspection. But the police confiscated the gadgets. According to the lawyer, the interest of the security forces in his client is connected with a serious article of the Criminal Code “Public calls for activities directed against the security of the state committed by an organized group” (Part 3 of Article 280.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). This article provides for five to seven years in prison.

Earlier, Dmitry Demushkin already had problems with the law. In 2017, he was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for inciting hatred (Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). After his release from the colony, he commented on the death of the nationalist Maxim Martsinkevich (Tesak) in the cell of the Chelyabinsk pre-trial detention center. In particular, Demushkin analyzed Martsinkevich’s suicide note and expressed doubts that Tesak had committed suicide.

The lawyer connects the current visit of law enforcement officers to Dyomushkin with his professional activities:

– This is due to his journalistic activities, there is nothing else here. He speaks on the radio, gives a lot of interviews about businessmen and politicians. He only does journalism. He, according to the feelings of the lawyer, is calm as always.

HRC member Eva Merkacheva said that she managed to communicate with Dmitry Demushkin:
