Bayern Munich are ready to pay about €100 million for Harry Kane

Bayern are close to making the most expensive deal in the history of the German championship. For the best English scorer Harry Kane, the club, which parted ways with its sniper Robert Lewandowski last summer and never found an adequate replacement for him in terms of productivity, is ready to pay about €100 million.

The list of the main European football news of the past weekend includes the news that appeared thanks to the statements made during the pre-season training camp of Bayern by its honorary president Uli Hoeneß. Hoeneß confirmed that before the summer transfer window closes, the German flagship is determined to acquire the famous English striker Harry Kane, who spent almost his entire professional career that began in 2009 at Tottenham Hotspur and is now the captain of his national team.

For the first time that Bayern are interested in Kane, it became known back in June.

It was believed that other continental giants, such as Real Madrid and Manchester United, were also participating in the fight for the striker. Meanwhile, from the statements of Uli Hoeness it followed that he considers this fight won by the Munich team. Hoeness informedthat Kane “made it very clear throughout the talks that his decision stands”, meaning that Bayern “will get it”. One of the decisive factors that played a role in the preparation of the transfer, according to the functionary, was the desire of Harry Kane to play “at the international level”. It is clear what Hoeness meant by such a level. “Tottenham” extremely unsuccessfully held the previous championship of England, took eighth place in it and, unlike Bayern, who got another gold of their championship, was left without the Champions League.

We are talking about a deal that is doomed to become extremely noticeable, if only for an absolutely formal reason.

German sources, for example Bildclaim that in the process of negotiations, the amount that Bayern agreed to pay for Harry Kane, who had probably already agreed on the details of a personal contract with them, rose to € 100 million.

The BBC agrees with this assessment. At the same time, representatives of the German championship, including Munich, have not yet made purchases that, in terms of cost, were at least close to the 100 million mark. And as part of the current transfer window in European football, it has so far been blocked only by two transfers involving much younger compatriots of the 29-year-old Kane – Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid and Declan Rice from West Ham to Arsenal . According to Transfermarkttheir cost is respectively €103 million and €116.6 million.

In the course of this summer’s selection campaign, Bayern behaved so reservedly, as if they were saving money on Harry Kane. She has already managed to conclude contracts with two fairly well-known newcomers – Borussia Dortmund defender Rafael Guerreiro and Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer. But both had the status of free agents and went to Munich for free.

At the same time, the purely sporting argumentation of the upcoming transfer is quite obvious. In the summer of 2022, Bayern parted ways with their leading center forward Robert Lewandowski, who wanted to play for Barcelona at a veteran age. The club has not found an adequate replacement in terms of productivity for the phenomenal Polish sniper. Serge Gnabry turned out to be Bayern’s top scorer in the last German championship with a rather modest figure of 14 goals scored. And for the team itself, the season turned out to be not too expressive. This time she won the title of champion of Germany by a miracle, bypassing Borussia on the flag, and in the quarter-finals of the Champions League she had no chance against Manchester City.

Harry Kane, on the other hand, was in excellent shape, which did not at all correspond to the tone of his team. In the English championship, he has 30 goals. In the goalscoring race, Kane was second only to Erling Haaland of Manchester City.
