Already today, December 15, the audience will be able to meet the heroes of the new comedy “Lovers”, the images of which are brilliantly created by Pavel Priluchny, Roman Kurtsyn, Maxim Vitorgan and Alexey Zolotovitsky who joined them. The picture is a continuation of the comedy “Mistresses” by Elena Khazanova. The message of the film has not changed, only the characters have changed: now it is the turn of men to take revenge on women for deceived feelings and hopes.
“Every year on December 31, my friends and I go to the bathhouse …” This phrase from the beloved Ryazan film has become a guide to action for the heroes of the new film, who also go to the Moscow bathhouse to take a steam bath, and at the same time have a drink there and discuss relationships with women. Only unlike their on-screen predecessors, most of the heroes of the new comedy actively complain about the fair sex: after all, their women demand sex, attention, money, and even stop drinking. What a misfortune!
Three typical representatives of a disappointed army of men turn out to be in the “bathhouse” company: the traitorous playboy Sasha, the idealist Lyosha and the henpecked Pasha.
All three deftly escaped from a group therapy session, in which the psychologist broadcasts that “all happy men are alike, but each is unhappy in his own way.”
The heroes of the comedy decide that they are not guilty of anything and therefore should not blame anyone, including their passions. After all, there is another way: to expose the hunters for thick wallets and take revenge on the devourers of fragile male hearts.
It is clear that if “Mistresses” showed the relationship of the sexes from the point of view of women, then “Lovers” – from the side of men, who are also offended by trifles and sometimes do not understand what they want from them. The heroes crave revenge, but by the end they realize that you can look for flaws in others as much as you like, but if you don’t look inward and don’t ask yourself a series of honest questions, you can forever be alone with your broken feelings.
The same team worked on the film as on “Mistresses”, which, by the way, collected more than 300 million rubles at our box office. Together with director Elena Khazanova, the script was written by Artem Vitkin (“The Dawns Here Are Quiet…”), and Mark Ziselson (“Loyalty”) was responsible for the camera decision.
The female roles in the film went to Natalia Chistyakova-Ionova (Gluk’oZa), Alena Babenko, Lyubov Tolkalina, Alina Lanina, Anastasia Ukolova and Nino Ninidze.
