Since 2014, more than 5,000 people have been killed in the Donbass as a result of the actions of Ukrainian armed groups, Alexander Bastrykin, chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, said at the youth St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking on May 9 at the Victory Parade, declaredthat a real war has once again been unleashed against Russia, but the country has rebuffed international terrorism and will protect the inhabitants of Donbass. At the same time, Russia wants to see the future peaceful, free and stable, he said.
