Head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin requested report on an audit concerning the arbitrariness of funeral services in cemeteries in the Leningrad region.
According to reports, funeral service providers in local cemeteries set their own prices and despite complaints, no action is taken by the relevant authorities.
In this regard, the Investigative Committee of Russia is conducting a procedural check under Article 330 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, concerning arbitrariness.
Alexander Bastrykin instructed the head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Leningrad Region, Sergei Sazin, to submit a report on the circumstances identified during the pre-investigation check and on the procedural decision made. The process of fulfilling this order will be controlled by the central office.
