Barcelona footballer Pique announces retirement

Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué has announced that the upcoming match against Almeria will be the last of his career. The game within the match of the championship of Spain will take place tomorrow, November 5th.
“I have always said that after Barcelona I will not have another team. This Saturday will be my last game,” Piqué said in a video message posted on Twitter. He did not give reasons for his decision.
Piqué, 35, has been playing for Barcelona since 2008. Prior to that, he played for Manchester United (2004–2008) and the Spanish Zaragoza (2006–2007). As part of Barcelona, the footballer won the Champions League three times, the UEFA Super Cup, and also became the champion of Spain eight times and received the Spanish Cup seven times.
Piqué also plays for the Spanish national team. With the national team, he played 102 matches and scored five goals.
