Military observer Viktor Baranets commented on reports that in Berdychi in the Avdeevsky direction, Russian troops used robotic tracked systems for the first time during the assault.
Earlier, Boris Rozhin, an expert at the Center for Military-Political Journalism, reported on his Telegram channel that the first field testing of a new promising Russian robotic platform took place in Berdychi. According to him, a group of tracked robots participated in supporting the assault operations of Russian troops and ensured the suppression of the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces by firing hundreds of grenades. At the same time, Rozhin emphasized, drones were able to operate in conditions where losses of personnel and expensive equipment would be inevitable.
Baranets noted that there are now different types of robots in the Russian army. “There are robots designed for combat operations, others for reconnaissance, others for evacuation, and others for delivering ammunition,” the expert reports. portal News.ru.
The observer noted that some samples were also tested during the Syrian campaign. Work on improving these platforms continues, but so far the use of such robots is limited, since there is technology that can withstand them.
“We cannot yet talk about the massive use of drones at the company level,” Baranets explained. At the same time, he emphasized that military-technical progress is certainly being observed, both on the ground, in the sky, and in space, and we are moving towards the robotization of military equipment.
