You can exchange money in three regional branches of PSB, as well as in three branches of the CMR and MRB-Bank. “For the sake of the convenience of residents and the smooth integration of the region into the Russian economic space, currency exchange operations are already being carried out,” said Andrey Peretokin, head of the Central Bank’s branch for the region.
On May 23, a dual-currency zone was introduced in the Kherson region, and the ruble was used together with the hryvnia. In July, the pro-Russian authorities of the region started take the hryvnia out of circulation. On September 30, Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the inclusion of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, as well as the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, into Russia. From next year, they planned to stop using the hryvnia.
