A tense situation is developing in the Zaporozhye region, the Ukrainian military tried to conduct reconnaissance in the north of the village of Dorozhnyanka, two sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRGs) were also recorded, informed Acting Governor of the region Yevgeny Balitsky.
The head of the region in his Telegram channel said that he talked with representatives of the units that “stand on the defense of the borders” of the Zaporozhye region.
“The situation is tense, the enemy has pulled the infantry to the so-called gray zone of the counterattack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where units of the 58th army and the Sudoplatov battalion are stationed,” he wrote.
According to him, on the morning of July 15, the enemy made an attempt to conduct reconnaissance in the north of Dorozhnyanka, but Russian units opened mortar fire, the Armed Forces of Ukraine withdrew in the direction of Gulyaipol. In addition, two DRGs of up to 12 people each were recorded in the Orekhovskoye direction. Groups advanced in the direction of Stepovoe and Pyatikhatki, they were liquidated.
“The enemy suffered significant losses in human strength and rolled back,” Balitsky stressed.
In early July, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the regional administration, announced that the Armed Forces (AF) of Russia had switched to active defense with counterattacks in the Zaporozhye region. On July 2, Rogov announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing for the second stage of a large-scale counteroffensive in the Zaporozhye region in the coming days. According to him, the enemy can concentrate the main blow for a breakthrough on any of the sectors of the front from the Vasilyevsky direction to the Vremevsky ledge.
The Russian authorities claim that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been conducting offensive operations since June 4. The Kremlin stated that the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was “choking”. On June 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the Ukrainian army is not able to achieve its goals in any sector.
