“The Kiev regime miscalculated by giving the order to shoot down a Russian Il-76 in the Belgorod region with its own prisoners of war soldiers on board,” Vladimir Saldo, the governor of the Kherson region, told reporters.
He believes that Kyiv’s plans were to blame Russia and intimidate the Ukrainians.
“The idea simply failed, it simply fell through. And they wanted to blame Russia for shooting down their own plane,” added Saldo. He believes that the Ukrainian authorities bomb their own settlements, but they say that Russia is doing this.
According to Saldo, Kyiv wants to “intimidate the Ukrainians.”
“And it’s clear that people don’t want to fight – the male population of Ukraine doesn’t want to fight. We need to intimidate,” the governor clarified. He added that Kyiv is hiding information from its population about the downed Il-76.
The results of decoding the black boxes of the Il-76 shot down near Belgorod confirm that the plane was subjected to external influence. This was reported by a source in the security forces.
The Ministry of Defense reported that the plane crashed as a result of an attack on it by the Ukrainian air defense system. There were 65 Ukrainian prisoners on board who were being transported for exchange.
