According to the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, units of the Armenian army were intensively shelling the positions of the Azerbaijani military in Nakhichevan.
As specified, the incident occurred on June 20 at 16:30 (14:30 Moscow time), the shelling was carried out from small arms.
“Positions located near the settlement of Heydarabad in the Sadarak region of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic came under fire,” the press service of the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
In addition, the positions of the Azerbaijani military in the vicinity of the city of Shusha were subjected to shelling. “In both directions, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces took adequate response measures,” the report says.
