Backstreet Boys lead singer Nick Carter was accused of raping a female fan in 2001. The New York Post writes about it. The situation is complicated by the fact that the alleged victim of the artist suffers from autism and cerebral palsy. Carter himself denies all accusations.
According to a copy of the complaint obtained by Page Six, in 2001 Nick Carter allegedly lured Shannon Ruth onto his tour bus after a concert in Washington State and drugged her with a red colored drink. Ruth believes it was a mixture of alcohol and cranberry juice.
Then Carter, according to Ruth, dragged her onto a bed on the bus and abused her.
“After he raped me, Carter called me a ‘reformed bitch.’ He left bruises on my arm,” the artist’s alleged victim was quoted as saying by the NYP.
Ruth also stated at her press conference that she contracted a sexually transmitted infection after meeting Carter. Along with three women who also alleged that Carter sexually assaulted them, Shannon filed a lawsuit. Now she’s asking for $30 million in damages.
Carter’s lawyer Michael Holtz vehemently denied all allegations.
“This statement about an incident that allegedly happened more than 20 years ago is not only legally unfounded, but completely untrue,” the lawyer said.
