“Awakening of the Earth” by Igor Evard at the House of Music on February 20

On February 20, in the Svetlanov Hall of the House of Music, Russian composer Igor Evard will present a large-scale vocal and symphonic project “Awakening the Earth” – a story about power and time, love and sorrow, about the transience of a moment flowing into eternity. Recently, Igor Evard has become one of the few Russian composers who develop the “classic crossover” genre.

– Igor, what do you plan to present to the viewer and why now?

“Everything has its time, and for my music, the time has come too. I want to present new works to the audience on a big stage, with a good professional orchestra, choir and amazing soloists. This is how the idea of ​​a concert appeared, in which symphonic fantasies and classical crossovers successfully intertwined.

— Why in Russia? After all, you are little known, it would be more profitable in Europe.

— We have truly great musicians in our country and some of the best voices in the world, so the world premiere of “Earth Awakening” will be held in Moscow, in the Svetlanov Hall of the House of Music. I hope that it will bring together feeling and thinking people, since each work is more than music, it is history, philosophy and even some matter that makes you want to feel and comprehend, and not just enjoy the sound.

— What are your future plans in Russia?

“Earth Awakening” is a big and important step in my work. Music has been and will be with me throughout my life. I hope you will hear new works not only on the stages, but also in the cinema, where I act as a director and screenwriter.

Igor Evard is a Russian composer, laureate of international and national awards: the European Symphony Orchestra Festival “Euroorchestria” (France), the All-Russian competition “Voices of Russia” and many others. President of the international competition of contemporary music “Composer of the XXI century”, holder of the Order. M. Balakireva, editor-in-chief of the all-Russian music and information newspaper “We play first. Da capo al fine.” The composer’s creative arsenal includes academic romances based on poems by famous poets, as well as a wide range of chamber and symphonic music.
