Avangard in Omsk beat Neftekhimik at the Blinov tournament with a goal into an empty net

On Monday, August 21, Omsk hockey players played the second match of Viktor Blinov’s home memorial, where their opponent was Neftekhimik. This time, the Hawks won 5-4 in overtime. A draw in regular time brought them a double Igor Martynov.

On August 21, the Omsk KHL team played the second match of the Victor Blinov Memorial Tournament at home and won 5:4 in overtime. The rival of the “hawks” was “Neftekhimik”.

Interestingly, before the match, Avangard was awarded with the participation of Acting Governor Vitaly Khotsenko and the Minister of Sports of Russia Oleg Matytsin with bronze medals from the last KHL season. Among the awards were received by the players of the “hawks”, who had already transferred to other teams in the off-season – Nail Yakupov, Alexander Dergachev and Alexei Bereglazov.

In the first period, there was only one goal – in the majority on the 12th minute, our team’s newcomer, defender Libor Szulak scored his first goal in Omsk. With a long-range throw, he closed a quick pass to Bush. In the first minutes of six critical moments, the hosts had only 1-2. Plus, further throw in the 11th minute and a single exit to the gate at Panyukov.

After the goal, the teams played three more times in unequal compositions before the break, but both did not extract dividends.

In the second period, at first, the Omsk residents did not realize the majority after the 33rd minute of the match, and 1 minute 9 seconds before the siren, Bryukvin equalized the score for the guests.

Very big events unfolded in the third period. Six heads at once! Three on each side. First, the hawks took the lead when Igor Martynov scored. Then Kashnikov equalized the opponent’s score with the transfer of Kamara. Less than two minutes passed and Dergachev gave Neftekhimik the lead when Yakupov passed to him. But after a minute or so, Panyukov already scored – 3:3.

Next, we should note the dangerous rendezvous between the opponent’s player and Mishurov in the 51st minute, our goalkeeper played excellently there. But that was not all, Klok made the score of the guests 4:3 in their favor. And only in the 58th minute in the “melee” Martynov scored and moved the numbers on the scoreboard to 4:4.

Omsk spent the last minute and a half of regular time in the minority due to the removal of Gulyaev (although before that the referee had not seen a foul against our player). At the end of three periods, a draw – 4:4.

But in overtime, the majority of the guests let down – they took a chance, removed the goalkeeper and lost him at a throw-in in the Omsk zone and let Semyon Chistyakov score into an empty net – 5:4!

Then on August 23, the “hawks” will play with “Barys”.

Let’s add that at the tournament, according to tradition, shootouts are beaten after each match, regardless of the result. Today, Avangard was also stronger in them.
