Automatic subscriptions offered to cancel in one click

It will no longer be possible to write off money without the knowledge
Social activists proposed to prohibit the automatic debiting of money after the end of the “trial period” of paid subscriptions. Many services take advantage of the fact that customers often forget to turn off an unnecessary service after using the free or reduced version. After that, the payment is debited from the user’s card, which is required to be “linked” for registration of the trial period.
As MK found out, the activists submitted a proposal for discussion regarding payment for subscriptions to various services. Often, companies offer customers to connect services with preferential terms for a certain period, after which the user is automatically transferred to the full cost. We are talking, for example, about services for watching movies or listening to music. Social activists considered that such an approach can be regarded as an unfair attitude towards the client.
The authors of the initiative propose to change the rules for registration of subscriptions. First of all, it is proposed to oblige service owners to obtain two consents from the user – separately for a trial period and separately for a full paid one. Service auto-renewal should not happen by default. Also, the client should be able to cancel the subscription in the simplest possible way. Activists believe that cancellation should be done in one click. The maximum allowed to ask one additional question is whether the user really wants to cancel the subscription.
