Australia joins oil price ceiling from Russia

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade announced that the country is joining the restrictions on Russian oil prices imposed by the G7 countries, and before that by states within the European Union.
From the press release of the department it follows that with this step, Australia expects to support reliable supplies of oil to the world market “while reducing Russia’s income” from its sale.
Earlier, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Russia is preparing a response to the oil sanctions of the EU, G7 and Australia.
