Attackers came up with a new way to scam Telegram

Kaspersky Lab has uncovered a new way for scammers to steal money, personal and financial information via Telegram, RIA Novosti reports.
It is noted that now scammers are disguising their resources as a service for online currency exchange. This allows them to steal money, personal and financial information from Russians.
The fake resource reportedly offers both regular currency and cryptocurrency exchange services. A gullible user is offered to use the services of a Telegram bot, and then contact the “operator”. He, in turn, under the pretext of accepting an application for a currency exchange, collects the personal data of a potential victim, after which she is invited to send her funds, and they promise to send the exchanged currency in 40-60 minutes. This concludes the communication with the “operator”.
As noted in Kaspersky Lab, scammers are increasingly using Telegram bots, which is due to the lack of awareness of potential victims.
