Athletes from Sakhalin won five medals of the FEFD boxing championship

In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the FEFD boxing championship ended. For five days, the participants kept fans of this sport in suspense, challenging not only awards, but also tickets to the national championship in Khabarovsk. Details were reported in the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Sakhalin Region.

Ten final matches took place on the final day. But the main highlight of the day was the arrival of Nikolai Valuev, Honored Master of Sports of Russia, WBA World Heavyweight Champion, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, and Oleg Saitov, Honored Master of Sports, two-time Olympic champion.

The titled athletes communicated a lot with the participants, arranged an autograph session and joint photography with everyone, and also held an awards ceremony.

Naturally, in the presence of boxing legends, each of the participants in the final fights tried to show everything he was capable of.

Three times the hall exploded with applause, welcoming the victories of the Sakhalin athletes. Denis Palshin, Baishbek Uulu Zhusup and Sergey Svirida became the champions of the Far Eastern Federal District.

Nevelchanin Denis Palshin boxed in the weight category up to 51 kg. His opponent in the final was Albert Gataulin from the Republic of Buryatia. They have already met in the ring as part of last year’s FEFD championship. Then Gataulin was stronger. This time the Sakhalin took revenge.

– It was a little heavy inside, as I had recently been ill. If it wasn’t, it would be easier. I knew roughly how the opponent would box, his tactics. Now I’m very happy that I won. Now there will be preparation for the Russian Championship, and then – selection for the World and European Championships, – said Denis Palshin, barely taking a breath after the final.

Baishbek uulu Zhusup from South Sakhalin competed in the weight category up to 63.5 kg. In the final, he broke the resistance of Sergei Matveev from the Magadan region.

“The plan was to counterattack, to meet, to leave on the sides. According to the battle, it turned out that I had to work as the first number. The opponent had a kappa, because of this he had pauses to rest, but I still managed to use his mistakes, ”the Sakhalin champion of the Far Eastern Federal District summed up the fight.

Sergei Svirida from Korsakov acted decisively in the weight category up to 80 kg, worked well at a distance and did not give his opponent a chance to succeed.

“The plan was to have more movement in the legs. The intensity, pressing down on the opponent didn’t work out a bit. I recently competed in Khabarovsk at international competitions. There he was in weight up to 86 kg. Here I had to lose 6 kg, and this affected my breathing, ”Sergey Svirida analyzed his performance.

In addition, the island boxers have two more bronze medals. They were won by Konstantin Kubarev and Alexander Barchan.

Bair Batlaev from Buryatia (up to 51 kg), his compatriot Radna Tsybikov (up to 57 kg), Vyacheslav Patsiora from the Amur Region (up to 67 kg), Ilya Mileshin from the Magadan Region (up to 71 kg), Denis Grigorchuk from Khabarovsk Territory (up to 75 kg), Primorye boxers Maxim Voshkov (up to 86 kg) and Mitkhail Burnos (+92 kg).

At the closing ceremony, the champions and prize-winners received cups, certificates and medals. In addition, gold and silver medalists were awarded cash prizes from the Eastern Mining Company.
